Damn - I sure love this button on my Breville toaster. I won’t bother to explain the feature to you - I don’t need to. We’ve all had a slice pop out medium-rare. But this is the first toaster I’ve had that addresses this universal problem, with a feature. And here’s what I really love. They could’ve given it a name like ‘Encore Burst’ or ‘15s Finishing Cycle’ - something corporate that fits with that very official tone of voice you generally find on appliances and their documentation. But they went with this. ‘A Bit More’ feels…a bit too colloquial. A bit inexact. A bit unvarnished - as if a child wrote it. But boy is it exactly what I want for my toast sometimes. And so I love this stupid button - perfect in its imperfection. There isn’t - yet - an award for copywriting on toasters, but if there were, A Bit More ought to take home Gold.
